Birthday Dinner at RiccoRenzo Galleries and Caffe

Facade of the restaurant along N. Garcia St.

It was a dimly lit restaurant with a simple but stylish modern interior design, with fresh flowers in cheerful colors adorning each table and adding a touch of softness to the atmosphere of the place. Small candles set up beside the flowers subtly glowed, creating faint shadows on the walls and lighting up the faces of the diners. They exuded a romantic ambiance that made the whole dining experience even more unforgettable.

Checking out the brochure...

Some of the paintings on the walls

On the walls were paintings worth hundreds of thousands, generated by various artists using different strokes and styles. Art enthusiasts and food lovers alike would certainly enjoy eating the delightful meals served here while surrounded by these creations. Of course it still wouldn't be complete without good music. That evening I was there, an elderly man with a soulful voice played some tunes for us on a keyboard while crooning classic love songs.

It was the perfect birthday treat for me, which only began with the quiet charm of the place. While waiting for our food, my fiance and I went to the second floor to view the exhibit in the gallery. It was entitled "Nude" by Norlie Meimban, displaying delicately crafted images of naked men and women in artistic forms. They were all amazingly done with oil on canvas.

The concept behind this is unique and meaningful

The highlight of the dinner was naturally the dinner itself. For the appetizer, we chose to have the chorizo and garlic pizza, which was so enticing and mouthwatering that I wanted to have more, more, more! The taste was perfect, and we thought it was the best pizza we have ever had. For the main course, we had opted for the Ricco Renzo Fifteen-Spice Chicken Fillet served with spaghetti aglio olio and their house salad as well as the Bistro Ricco Renzo White Fish Fillet with Spanish tortilla and house salad too. They were delectable and filling, and were certainly worth the price.

My favorite--- Chorizo and Garlic Pizza

It was our first time there, but we will certainly come back--- perhaps to check out the renovations they are planning to have and to try the new menu too. Or maybe for the opening of my fiance's art exhibit there in the future.

Great art and delicious food is simply a combination I can't resist.
